i-Ready is logging my student out unexpectedly
- i-Ready only works on a laptop, desktop or iPad. Learn more about technical requirements.
- There may be too many devices on your internet. All the devices actively using internet in your home (computers, tablets, smart phones. smart TVs, Alexa-type devices, gaming consoles and streaming devices) are competing for limited internet.
Try to limit streaming and device use when students are accessing the i-Ready. - Check the time. Diagnostics are only open from 7:30am to 9 pm. It's ok if your student is logged off in the middle of the diagnostic. Your student will NOT lose their progress and will be able to continue from where they left off the next morning.
- Note: your student's teacher may choose to limit the diagnostic window to online class time only.

The Diagnostic Seems Too Hard for my Student
- The diagnostic is designed to determine what your child knows and doesn’t yet know. It is not like a standard assessment. The diagnostic is a computer adaptive test, so as the student answers a question correctly, they will get a harder question; if the student answers a question incorrectly, they will get an easier question. In that way, the test will zero in more accurately on your student’s learning level.
- This test should be challenging, and that’s okay. Students will see questions on material they have not yet learned. In this way, we can get the most accurate picture of a student’s learning
- It is important for us to know what a student is not yet able to do because the results of the diagnostic assessment determine the lessons your student will be assigned.
- Please be there to proctor the diagnostic, however your student should do the diagnostic alone without assistance, including the use of a calculator or dictionary. Encourage your student to take their best guess and move on. Parental assistance during the diagnostic will not provide us with accurate results.
- We have additional support resources here!
