The first Garfield Elementary School was built in 1902 where the school’s playground is today. The school was rebuilt and re-opened in 1968. In 2008, the third rendition of the school was built, thanks to voter approval of a construction bond in 2006. With a new library, computer lab, cafeteria, stage and modern classrooms, Garfield Elementary School is ready for another 50 years as part of the district and city history and as a learning and community center.
