- Natural Leaders
Natural Leaders are warm, caring social persons who serve as multi-cultural bridges between students, families, communities and schools.
-
Here at Hawthorne Elementary, Natural Leaders are parents and family members who serve as school volunteers and leaders in their community. Natural Leaders meet once a month to spend time together, plan events, sign up to volunteer, and discuss strategies and ideas for making school a better place for all kids. Any parent, grandparent, or guardian can be a Natural Leader!
Last year, Natural Leaders volunteered many hours to our school. They built relationships and made connections with families, supported classroom teachers with projects and copies, created beautiful and meaningful hallway displays, celebrated students with activities and events, and provided delicious traditional dishes in appreciation of the Hawthorne staff. The end of the year MULTICULTURAL CELEBRATION showcased the rich diversity of our school and community through traditional food dishes, artwork and handcrafts, music and dance performances, and traditional dress.
Currently, Natural Leader meetings are held on the 1st Wednesday of every month at 9:00 AM in person and interpretation is available by request.
We welcome parents/guardians of all cultural backgrounds. You don't have to speak English to be a Natural Leader!
