Natural Leaders are warm, caring social persons who serve as multi-cultural bridges between students, families, communities and schools.
Here at Hawthorne Elementary, Natural Leaders are parents who have been trained to serve as school volunteers and leaders in their community. Natural Leaders meet once a month to spend time together, plan events, sign up to volunteer, and discuss strategies and ideas for making school a better place for all kids. Any parent, grandparent, or guardian can be a Natural Leader!
Last year, the Natural Leaders volunteered many hours to our school and community. They connected with families and helped get food to those in need. They supported our Zoom Parent events which featured a Technology Night, Imagine Language & Learning Night, and a Parenting During a Pandemic Night. They also held a Spring Scavenger Hunt, a Virtual Glow Dance, and showed their creative abilities by making classroom banners for our Multicultural Parade.
Currently, meetings are on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 9:15 AM on Zoom and interpretation is available by request.
We welcome parents/guardians of all cultural backgrounds. You don't have to speak English to be a Natural Leader!
