Whittier Elementary School has a mandatory uniform policy. In the spring of 1995, the Whittier Site Council (WSC) adopted a School Improvement Plan to increase student achievement in all areas.
Whittier is proud to be a school with uniforms. The feedback we have received from parents and the community regarding our mandatory policy has been very positive. Research has shown that students attending schools with a uniform policy do better academically and have an increased sense of school pride and equality. Student success academically and socially is the key for children to be positive, productive citizens.
