My name is Emily Price. This is my eighth year teaching at View Ridge. I am ready and excited to learn along with this year's Vikings. This year I will be the English Language Arts coach for our school. This means that I get to support readers and writers at every grade level.

    Getting to Know Mrs. Price

I grew up in Kenmore, Washington. I attended the University of Washington and City University here in Everett. I spent two years as a substitute teacher before starting to teach full time. I have taught  4th and 5th grades.

I love reading, gardening, hiking, and cooking. I try to read a mix of books for adults and books for kids. I absolutely love a good fantasy novel, or a nonfiction book about the world around us. That way I can make excellent book reccommendations to students. I have a small garden at my house. In the summer I grow tomatoes, lettuce, peppers, green beans, and lots of basil. We try to go hiking every weekend, as long as the weather is okay. I am really excited to do more snowshoeing this winter.

cat I have one cat at home. Her name is Margo. She is 15 years old. We adopted her in February of 2020 from a shelter. She had been there for a year and a half! She is very sweet and playful. Her favorite way to spend the afternoon is watching out the windows or sleeping in the sunshine.

My husband and I usually host international students who attend Edmonds Community college. For the time being there are no international students to host and our house feeling a little empty. We have hosted 7 students over the last seven years. Opening our home to international students has been a wonderful opportunity to learn about other cultures and share our own.
