• Dear North Stars families,

I am humbled and honored to introduce myself as the new principal of North Middle School starting July 1. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting some of the staff and students, and I could not be more excited to join the North Stars family! I look forward to getting to know each of you in the coming months through our various school events. I come to North from Evergreen Middle School where in the past year I served as an assistant principal. For the past eleven years, I have served in the capacity of teacher, Dean of students, and assistant principal. As a servant leader, I strongly believe in building partnerships with families, staff, and the community to ensure the success of all students. I believe in a positive, energetic, welcoming, and learning school environment for students, staff, and families.

When the opportunity to come to North Middle came up, I was thrilled to be part of a passionate, caring, and dedicated school community with a strong family commitment for student success. I believe education to be a lifelong journey where every decision is made in the best interest of all students. Collaboration between schools and families is vital in order to provide all students with rigorous and relevant educational opportunities as we prepare students for their future endeavors.

On a personal note, I was born and raised in Guatemala but lived most of my life in Miami, Florida. Throughout my life, I’ve had the opportunity to work in different fields, which has allowed me to hone my skills as a servant leader and a passionate advocate for students. As your principal, I want us to work as a team, collaborate, and share ideas to help our students and school community achieve success. I welcome your feedback and I am eager to listen to your input. Please do not hesitate to visit our campus, call the school, or email me at MBustamante@everettsd.org.

    Raising the Bar!

    Sincerely,

    Dr. Melvin Bustamante
