• Small Group Counseling/ "Falcons Club"

    • I offer small group sessions throughout the school year for Kindergarten through fifth grades. Small groups are an effective way for students to benefit from personal emotional and social growth, as well as to gain support from peers with similar needs. For simplicity I call all my small groups "Falcons Club." However, the topics may include social skills, anger management, emotion management, anxiety/worry/stress, changing families, friendship skills, school success skills, and/or grief. Groups meet once a week for about 6-8 weeks. Students can request to be in a group or they may be referred by their teachers, other staff members, and/or parents/guardians.

    • Group counseling is a powerful experience for children because they quickly learn that they are not alone in their experiences. They learn to trust and confide in others. They also learn that we have far more in common than we have differences. Children can be each other's best support and small groups offer the kind of relationships and skill building that promotes emotional and social growth, plus encourages academic success.
