Principal's Message

  • Welcome to Silver Firs Elementary!

I am excited and honored to serve this amazing school community and to do so alongside a staff that is deeply committed to the success and growth of each of your children.

If you are new to Silver Firs Elementary, we embrace being a community that is passionate about helping each student achieve academic and social emotional excellence. Our teaching staff is highly qualified, and we are continually learning and growing professionally to better serve the needs of each student and their family. We pride ourselves by ensuring all students receive exceptional standards-based instruction and we are dedicated to teaching students the skills necessary to become life-long learners who are respectful of differences and who can transition from the classroom to the community as successful contributing citizens. Our students experience viable, motivating, and real-world experiences to achieve success in the 21st Century.

The Jaguar community is made up of dedicated teachers, staff and parents who all come together with one common priority ~ doing what’s best for our students. Our motto at Silver Firs is, “Together we grow with PRIDE” (Politeness, Respect, Independent managers, Doing our best, Everyone working cooperatively). The education of our students is a partnership. Whether it is as a Watch D.O.G., a member of the PTA, or as a classroom volunteer, I invite you to visit Silver Firs and join in the partnership. We cannot do this important work without you! More information on our PRIDE program can be found in the Student Handbook section of our website.

As always, I welcome opportunities to chat formally or informally about ways we can best serve our students. I want to work collaboratively with you to make your child's experience at Silver Firs successful. Please stop by and see us anytime. We look forward to working together to ensure the success of our children!

Thank you for bringing your children to Silver Firs and giving us your trust in educating your children.

    Warmest regards,

    Aleta Smoot, Principal
