Welcome to First Grade!
I’m excited to begin the 2020-2021 school year; it will look completely different than we are used to, but it will be a FANTASTIC year nonetheless! First grade is an amazing year of growth, exploration, and is full of exciting challenges and interesting things to learn.
My name is Robyn Ross and this year marks the beginning of my twenty-first year as a first grade teacher (I love it!) and my third year at Silver Firs Elementary. Silver Firs is a great place to work and a great place for students! Impacting the life and learning of young children is a humbling experience. Seeing that “light bulb moment,” the moment when understanding dawns, will never get old, and I hope I never take it for granted!
A bit more about me . . . I have been married to Mr. Ross for eleven years and we have two sons: Ezekiel (9) and Isaiah (7). We chose to grow our family through international adoption, so, our boys were born in provinces in southern China. Each came to be a part of our family at the age of two, the first (Ezekiel) in 2013 and the second (Isaiah) in 2015. They are VERY busy and inquisitive boys who keep us on our toes! I love to travel (in the US and around the world), "play" outside (hiking, walking, going to the beach, exploring new places), read, and spend time with family and friends.
As an educator and individual, I strive to be a clear communicator. It is my goal to make sure you are aware of what your child is learning and what we are up to in A1 each week. Please watch for weekly newsletters (posted every Friday in Canvas) that will keep you informed. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call (425.385.6500), email (firstname.lastname@example.org), or send a note, and I will get back to you as quickly as possible. I am looking forward to learning more about every child and family represented in our email@example.com (office)
