 I feel so privileged to be working as the Silver Firs and Mill Creek Elementary EL Instructional Coach this year!  This will be my fifth year with Everett Public Schools. I graduated from the University of Washington with my Bachelor's in Science and the University of Washington-Bothell for my teaching certificate.  I also worked as a Registered Nurse for many years in our local hospitals and communities.  Before that, I was a Russian linguist in the U.S. Army.  Always a lifelong learner, I also recently completed my Master's Degree in English Language Learning and currently hold an endorsement in EL/ML (English Learners/Multilingual Learners). I do speak and understand conversational Spanish and some Russian.

This year will certainly be unique in every way.  I feel confident and hopeful, however, that we all will rise up and embrace flexibility, grace, and new ways of learning as we embark on this adventure together. I am here to advocate for our Multilingual students and families and ensure that they receive rigorous and culturally responsive instruction. I hope to connect with families and focus on the tremendous strengths that multilingual students bring to the classroom and school. I am here to support and assist you with your child's English language development as well as making sure you are connected to the school and community.  Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any questions or concerns.  I am here to help you, your child, your family, and OUR community.

Fun facts about me:

• I was born in Seattle (and also lived in North Dakota for 7 years). 

• I have 4 children, ranging in age from 10 to 22.

• I am a Veteran, serving in the Army and a short time in the Navy.

• I love to travel and have a passion for learning about different cultures and perspectives.

• If I could go to Hogwarts, I would.
