Welcome to First Grade!
I’m excited to begin the upcoming school year! First grade is an amazing year of growth and exploration and is full of exciting challenges and interesting things to learn.
My name is Robyn Ross, and this will be my twenty-fifth year as a first-grade teacher; I love it! Impacting the life and learning of young children is a humbling experience. Seeing “light bulb moments,” the moments when understanding dawns, will never get old, and I hope I never take it for granted! This will be my seventh year at Silver Firs Elementary; it’s a fantastic place to work and a great place for kids. Prior to coming to Silver Firs, I taught in the Granite Falls School District for 17 years and the Lake Stevens School District for one year.
A bit more about me . . . I've been married to Mr. Ross for fifteen years and we have two sons: Ezekiel (14) and Isaiah (11). We chose to grow our family through international adoption, so, our boys were born in provinces in southern China. Each came to be a part of our family at the age of two, the first (Ezekiel) in 2013 and the second (Isaiah) in 2015. I love to travel (in the US and around the world), "play" outside (hiking, walking, going to the beach, exploring new places), read, complete 1,000 piecd jigsaw puzzles, and spend time with family and friends.
As an educator and individual, I strive to be a clear communicator. It is my goal to make you are aware of what your child is learning and what we are up to in A1 each week. Please watch for a weekly newsletter, emailed every Friday, that will keep you informed. If you ever have questions or concerns, please feel free to call (425.385.6500), email (rross@everettsd.org), or send a note, and I will get back to you as quickly as possible. I am looking forward to learning more about every child and family represented in our classroom!
