In 1988, the Silver Firs Elementary School opened to meet the needs of a rapidly growing area of the school district. As its neighborhood has grown around it, the school has become an integral part of the community fiber. Silver Firs is used year-round, before and after school by community groups such as the YMCA Daycare, Camp Fire, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, Mill Creek Parks and Recreation, and PTA.
