August 1, 2017: Greenhouses torn down per order of Maintenence department, citing safety issues.May-June 2017: Placed 100's of strawberries, kale, other greens & 4 wasabi plants in the grow beds. Water quality testing, balancing ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, pH. Ready for fish.March 10, 2017: Phase 2 of the aquaponics system finished! We turned the pump on! Water flowed through the whole system for the first time.June 2016: Raised bed building work party with 60-70 students
Spring 2016: $5,000 Lowes Community Partner Grant.Jan 2016: $800 Bruin Community ParentsFall 2015: $1,000 Everett Public Schools FoundationAugust 2015: Phase 1 of the aquaponics system finished! 12 tables and 4 tanks built. (pictures here)Fall 2014: $1,000 Everett Public Schools Foundation for Zipgrow towersMay 2014: $5,000 Lowes Community Partner Grant. Partnering with Farmer Frog to build an aquaponics system.
April 2013: Hoop greenhouse repairs are done! perimeter foundation, door, working water and electric! Cleanup done too.
October 2012: $500 Everett Public Schools Foundation
May 2012: $2,000 grant from Food Corp (Whole Foods)! This is what started it all: cleaning up the large greenhouses and buying materials and tools to build raised beds.
