Hi! Welcome to my page. I'm Bev Nyberg and my specialties are American Literature and AVID. I currently teach English 3 and English 3 HONORS. During this current extended break from school, I and my Western Washington University Intern, Ms. Ashley Lund, will be using Google Classroom to stay in touch with you, our amazing students! Per Ms. Lund from her most recent Google Classroom update: "You do not need to check-in to Google Classroom every single day, but starting next Monday, 3/23, please 𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐜𝐤 Google Classroom
𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐚 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲. In Monday’s bulletin, I will go over learning targets and tasks to complete online and offline for that week." Hey, thanks for that message Ms. Lund. You rock!
I hope you guys are enjoying the warm sunshine of Spring! When we last met, we were reading Into the Wild, researching information about the philosphy of Transcendentalism, learning more about the lives and works of Transcendental and Romantic writers and poets, and we were beginning to practice our own free-verse poetry writing skills. Here's an idea: begin looking through your own Transcendental lense by steppping outside and getting in touch with NATURE. Take yourself on a walk outside and absorb all the quiet, magnificent beauty of the natural world around you, just like Thoreau did every day during his two-year "self-quarantine" experiment on Walden Pond!
