    Coaches Bio:
     
    David Benson - Head Baseball Coach (3rd Season as Head Coach, 9th with Program)

    Playing Career: Cascade HS Grad, class of 2007. Everett Community College 08-09. 2 Time All NWAACC All League Selection. Centenary College (D1 Louisiana) 2010 Honorable Mention P, 2011 granted free transfer to Virginia Commonwealth University (D1 Richmond VA). For the Rams, Benson ranked in  the top 20 in the nation for K/9 innings. 3 Time National Champion for the Seattle Studs summer colleigate team. Benson also served as the pitching coach from 2017-2019. a 2 Time All American at the NBC World Series in Wichita Kansas and 2013 Tournament MVP. Following the MVP performance Benson was invited to a Arizona Diamondbacks tryout. Since entering the program in 2012, Benson has been a part of 4 Wesco League titles, 1 District Championship, 3 District Championship appearances, 3 state appearances (all 3 top 8 finishes) and seen 32 players sign and move on to the college level. Benson has also been named Cascade Coach of the Year 3 times and Wesco Coach of the year in 2018.
     
    Currently resides in Lake Stevens with his wife Maddie, 2 daughters Addison (4) and Brynnlee (2) and two pups Bailey and Merlot.
     
     
    Austin Pinorini - Varsity Assistant (1st year with the program)
     
    Playing Career: Austin returns to his old stomping grounds as a member of the Cascade 2015 class. Austin was a 4 year letter winner at Cascade, being named to the All Wesco team 3 times including multiple 1st team awards. Austin was a member of the 2014 team to win the regular season title and district title. He played a vital role in that teams success helping lead the Bruins to a top 8 finish in state. After Cascade, Austin accepted a scholarship to play at Bellevue Community College. At Bellevue Austin was named to two NWAACC All Leaue Teams. After Bellevue, Austin accepted a scholarship to play at Gonzaga. At Gonzaga, Austin was a staple in the Zags lineup and won a WCC title securing a place in a NCAA Regional. At the conclusion of his senior season, Austin was selected by the Cleveland Indians in the 22nd round of the 2019 MLB Draft. Injuries cut his professional career short, but a truly remarkable accomplishment.
     
    Austin resides in Everett. We are very fortunate to have him!
     
     
    Tommy Leon- JV Head Coach (3rd Season as JV Head Coach) 
     
    Playing Career: Tommy is also a Cascade HS Grad on staff, as a member of the class of 1999. Tommy was a member of very successful teams under Cascade Baseball legend Bob Smithson. Tommy was also teammates with Grady Sizemore. Tommy was a 1st team All Wesco selection firstbasemen. We are very lucky to have coach Tommy providing his knowledge!
     
    Tommy resides in Snohomish with his wife Kendra and sons TJ and Tyler. 
     
     
    Taylor Shea-  Varsity Assistant (2nd year with program)
     
    Playing Career: Despite being a graduate of rival Lake Stevens, Taylor has been a huge addition to our staff that we are very lucky to have. We all agree he looks much better in crimson and grey than he does in purple and gold. Taylor was 4 year letterman at Lake Stevens class of 2014. Appeared in 3 district championships winning 2. After many successful seasons at Lake Stevens he moved on to Everett CC where he was a 1st Team NWAC Pitcher in 2015 and a 2nd Team NWAC Pitcher in 2016. After his time at Everett he accepted a scholarship to South Dakota State University (D1). Outside of Cascade Baseball, Taylor is the owner/operator of a select program called the Snohomish County Prospects. Taylor is a very popular name on the select baseball scene. We are extremely fortunate to have him aiding our program. He provides a lot of energy and knowledge to our players at both levels.
     
    Taylor resides in Marysville.
     
     
    Michael Carter- Program Assistant (2nd Year with Program).
     
    Playing Career: Another former Bruin, Michael was a member of the class of 2016. A 3 year letterman for the Bruins, Michael was a 2 time All-Wesco selection for Catcher. Michael was a member of two state runs, a district championship and 2 Wesco Titles. After a ton of success in his time with the BruCru, Michael moved on to play college baseball at Bellevue CC. At Bellevue Michael was a member of very successful Bulldogs team who finished at the top of the NWAC North Division. Although just barely missing the NWAC Tournament, Michael was an important player in the teams success. We are very fortunate to have Michael on staff to work specifically with our catchers and hitters.

    Gavin O'Neil- JV Assistant (1st year with Program).
     
    Gavin lso comes to us a graduate of Lak Stevens HS. Gavin was a stud on some great Lake Stevens teams. A teammate and good friend of coach Taylor, Gavin was a staple in CF for many successful Lake Stevens teams. Gavin also won 2 district titles while appearing in 3. An All-Wesco Selection for outfield on multiple occasions. Gavin was also a member of the dominant football program that made many state apperances in his time on the team. Gavin is assistant coach for Taylor Shea's Snohomish County Prospects 16 year old team. We are very fortunate to have Gavin who specializes in outfield defense.
