• Home Work Policy

    There will be no formally assigned homework in the 2nd grade. All teachers are highly encouraging parents to read with their child for at least 20 minutes per night. The purpose of reading for 20 minutes per night is to build fluency, comprehension, word-solving, and a love of reading in a supportive, loving environment. After reading with your child, ask them the following questions:

    • What happened at the beginning of the story?
    • What was the problem in the story?
    • How was the problem solved?
    • Why do you think _____ happened?

    Students are also encouraged to practice basic math facts. You can practice math fact fluency by playing math games or using flash cards!
