Welcome

  • logo Welcome to another fantastic year!
I am very excited to have your student in my class this year and am looking forward to a year full of learning, growth, and development.

    • Hello Everyone!  I miss seeing my math students and working with all the wonderful classes at Cedar Wood Elementary.  I know many teachers have sent work packets, as well access information for online programs like iReady and Pearson Math.  I am sharing a few extra resources for families during this time. Board and card games are a great way to explore mathematics and mathematical thinking.  Games that teach math: anything with dice, anything with cards, games where you keep score, anything where you advance pieces on a board. Some examples include:  Yahtzee, Uno, Monopoly, Checkers, Chess, Trouble, Sorry, Tiny Dots, Prime Climb. Have fun playing!
    • BedTime Math App    The Bedtime Math app for iPhone/iPad or Android, available in both English and Spanish, is a great way for families with kids ages 3-9 to have fun with math together! Click for the daily math problem, a surprise problem, or any math problem in our archive, which you can browse to find your favorite topics.
    • Youcubed Apps & Games  Recommended games and apps from youcubed at Stanford University.  The goal is inspiring math through Growth Mindsets and Innovative Teaching.
