Please look to Canvas for schedules and other resources during this fall semester!
This is my fourteenth year working at Cedar Wood Elementary and fifthteen year of teaching. I feel very honored to work with such a great group of students and staff.
I graduated from Washington State University (Go Cougs!) with a Bachelor of Arts degree with an emphasis in Elementary Education. After graduating from Washington State University, I began subbing for the Everett School District. I have subbed for kindergarten through eighth grade. I was a long-term first grade sub at Penny Creek Elementary for a trimester, taught AM kindergarten at Whittier Elementary for 2010-2011. I have also taught first grade, third grade, and fifth grade at Cedar Wood Elementary. In June 2015, I earned a Master of Education Degree and ProTeach from the University of Washington Bothell. In addition, I have earned my National Board Certification.
I am originally from St. Louis, Missouri, but I moved to Everett, Washington when I was in eighth grade. I am a graduate of the Everett School District and feel very privileged to be back as a teacher. I am the youngest of five children, an aunt to 9 nieces and 5 nephews, and a great aunt to 4 great nieces and 1 great nephew. In my free time, I love to spend time with my family and friends. I also enjoy dancing, listening to music, playing board games, taking pictures, traveling, and exercising.
I believe that every student deserves the right to learn to the highest standard and my goal is to do my best to accommodate students' needs so they each receive an equal opportunity to learn. I am looking forward to a fun and exciting year with your child and also becoming a partner with you in your student's learning experience. Your child's academic success is OUR number one goal! Thank you in advance for all of your help. I know this is going to be a great year.
