    English 2A

    Taught Terms 1,3,5,7

    In English 2A students explore and examine the importance of cultural identity.  In this exploration, students will: read a variety of texts, view videos, respond to texts in writing, and speak during class discussions to enrich the learning of themselves and others. 

     

    English 2B 

    Taught Terms 2,4,6,8

    In English 2B students examine the idea of justice, and its connection to cultural ideas and norms around the world.  Additionally, students also explore perspective, and how this idea relates to both justice and culture. 

     

    English 2C

    Taught Terms 1,3,5,7

    In English 2C students will read a novel and through the novel examine conflict involving culture.  The conflict may be within the characters themselves, with others, with nature or society. 

     

    English 2D 

    Taught Terms 2,4,6,8

    In English 2D students look at various environmental issues from around the world.  Students watch a film and examine the rhetorical devices used within the film to persuade the audience.  Throughout the course students will also dig into fallacies, their use and how to avoid using them within writing and speaking.
