In May 2024, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals issued a ruling in N. D. v. Reykdal, concluding that the availability of adult-education programs triggers an obligation under the IDEA to provide special education services to 21-year-old students eligible for special education through their 22nd birthday. You can read the full opinion on the 9th Circuit Court's website

  • How long, each day, are students at their work sites?

    Posted by:

On days when students access their work sites, they are away from the training center (classroom location) for half of the school day. We have morning and afternoon work site shifts. Students spend half of their day at the training center (classroom location) and half of their day at their work site. Students who are in the School 2 Work program, may access two work sites daily to help increase their work endurance.

  • Do students receive meals provided through the school?

    Posted by:

Yes! Breakfast and lunch are available to all STRIVE students. Cascade High School families get free meals because of the Community Eligibility Program, and need to fill out the Child Nutrition Eligibility & Education Benefit (CNEEB) form by October 1 (or if you have a status change throughout the year).

  • What will my student be learning during classroom instructional time?

    Posted by:

We are so lucky to have an amazing vocational learning space at Cascade High School! When on campus, students participate in vocational opportunities in our Vocational Lab and Life Skills activities in our kitchen and dining space. During this time, students also work on individualized IEP goals. Each morning, students participate in 20 minutes of fitness (Yoga, Zumba, Dance) to help build flexibility and endurance.
