Hello students and parents,
I wanted to take a moment to communicate with you regarding the upcoming weeks. I know our students and parents have many questions about what to expect from teachers and about their workload during the next 6 weeks. Although I do not have all of the answers, I can tell you how I will be communicating with my students and how I will be delivering information to them.
- Communication: I plan to rely heavily on email and remind.com. If you have not signed up to receive my remind messages, please send the message to the number 81010. You should receive a confirmation text asking for your name and confirming that you have signed up for my German class.
- German 1: rmd.at/g1lockwood
- German 2: rmd.at/g2lockwood
- German 3 /AP: rmd.at/aplockwood
- Delivery of content: Any information, materials, and/or tasks I give out over the next 6 weeks will be done through Google Classroom. My students have been using this platform all year long and are familiar with how it works. After posting materials, I will also send a remind text and email to students giving them a heads up.
We know there are many uncertainties during this trying time. As educators we will be providing enrichment opportunities and reinforcing concepts that were taught up until March 13, 2020.
Some students and parents are inquiring about retaking or making up tests. As a World Language Department, we will not be administering any assessments during the school closure. Students should take the opportunity to practice and strengthen their understanding of concepts (content, vocabulary, structures, etc). Please look at Google Classroom for those opportunities.
All assessments will be given to students upon return to the classroom.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
