This fall I am super excited to be teaching 2nd Grade again! I love the content and the craft that 2nd graders possess and I'm looking forward to going deeper this year and providing more opportunities for growth. I have already been planning some fun themes and topics we'll study.
I Love being a Woodside Toucan and working for Everett Public Schools. Recently, our students voted to name Woodside's mascot TIKI and I'm looking forward to seeing Tiki around Campus! I grew up in Illinois, I have lived in Wisconsin, and I moved out to Washington in 2006. Although my mom, dad, and brother still live in the suburbs of Chicago, I have a "Grand Uncle," an aunt, and cousins who live in the Bellevue and Kirkland areas. I live in Seattle and love exploring all the Northwest has to offer.
After high school, I attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison. (GO BADGERS!) I earned a Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education with a minor in Spanish. In 2012 I received my Masters in Education from the University of Washington-Bothell, in addition to becoming a Nationally Board Certified Teacher in the area of Literacy. I truly enjoy being a lifelong learner, and I am thrilled to spend another year working with such wonderful students, families, and colleagues.
When I am not working I spend my time reading, relaxing, and playing outside. I finished my first marathon and my first triathlon in 2013 and this last year I completed a few more half marathons. I look forward to all of the adventures the future holds and am excited to start another school year.
