Welcome to 1st grade!
I am Paola Sánchez-López, and I am thrilled to be starting my 5th year at Emerson Elementary!
First grade is a massive year of growth, and I am eager to support your child as they grow as a confident scholar and community member. This will be my fourth year teaching in the Spanish Dual-Language program, and I look forward to continue learning alongside your learners! To do this, I'm committed to creating a classroom environment where all feel valued, safe, loved, and supported. In our class, in addition to the academics, we also learn how to be safe, respectful, and responsible classroom community members. This means your student will learn how to identify and manage their emotions and develop a sense of empathy for others.

I attended Western Washington University for my Bachelor's degree and K-8 teaching certificate. I also have my reading and ELL endorsements. I am originally from outside Olympia, Washington, and love living in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I love attending concerts, paddleboarding, cooking, and watching movies, as well as my adorable cats, Suki & Bolillo!
