Welcome to Kindergarten!
I am so excited to work with your family to provide an incredible year of interactive learning, whether it be online, in person, or a combination of the two. I am incredibly grateful work together as a team to continue the love of learning and making new friends. Together we will have so much to celebrate as we watch your child grow in many ways. It's going to be awesome!
You will receive important information and updates of the ever-changing information during this time. To stay current, read my newsletters and check district emails, website updates, and be on the look out for phone calls.
Your child will access his/her learning through our district platform called Canvas. It is my hope this website will help us to have a smooth, coordinated effort to make this year's distance learning more accessible, easy to comprehend, while engaging your child in academic activities and enriching your child's understanding of benchmark goals. Canvas will also be the platform for most of my communication to parents, our online Zoom sessions, along with help for assignments posted. Everything you need will be a click away!
More information will be coming soon. If you need to contact me, please email me: SMoody@everettsd.org
Please stay in touch, and take care of yourself and your loved ones!

Welcome to Room 106! My name is Samantha Moody. I have always been passionate about education and have wanted to be a teacher since the first day I stepped into the classroom as a kindergartener myself. My ultimate goal is to foster my student’s creativity by providing a comfortable learning environment in which they feel free to explore and further develop their personal interests and uncover passions unbeknownst to them. This may occur by first exploring communal interests within the classroom and then branching out throughout the community, allowing students to find common interests and build long-lasting friendships that will last a lifetime. As an educator it is my job to call forth each learners potential by broadening their horizons and creating globally conscious individuals.
This is my fourth year teaching kindergarten at Monroe. I started my teaching career in 2015 by graduating from Seattle Pacific University and earning my teaching certification and bachelors in Integrated Studies with a concentration in social sciences. Quickly after graduating I found my home with the Everett school district and have enjoyed being a part of this fabulous community ever since. I recently earned my Master’s degree in English Language Learning because I am very passionate about helping diverse students transition and succeed in the classroom. By embracing the diversity within our classroom and school together we will create a community filled with mutually learning, respect, and cultural understanding.
Some of my favorite things and fun facts about me:
- My husband Patrick and I are very excited to have our first child together due in September. A baby girl named Avery.
- Spending time with my family. We love to have family game nights learning new and interesting card and board games.
- Playing soccer with my dog Bella.
- Updating our home: Staying at home has inspired us to take on several DIY projects around the house!
- The color lime green.
- Hiking and enjoying the great outdoors.
