Here are some ideas you can do to keep busy: (email me pictures of what you're doing, and I'll share them on our picture page!)
- Coloring
- Build with blocks
- Hide and seek
- play outside
- go for walks
- scavenger hunt indoors/outdoors
- wash toys in the sink
- make a fort
- sort items (silverware, socks, toys, buttons, anything you can think of)
- Help with chores
- Count how many steps from point A to point B (indoors/outdoors)
- Bounce a ball as you count/say the ABCs
- Make a game of practicing: name/age/mom’s name/dad’s name/ brother & sister’s name/pet names/where I go to school/where I live/my address/my phone # (we do this as a class sitting in a circle and bouncing the ball to whoever’s turn it is)
- Work on puzzles – if you don’t have any, color a picture and cut it into pieces
- Play simplified versions of board games
- Play card games (go fish is a great one for number recognition. If this is too easy, ask for a card that is greater or less than the one you have)
- Make shadow puppets
- Count anything and everything
- Try to rhyme words
- Make a rice sensory bin – put uncooked rice in a container and hide small toys. Use a slotted spoon to find them
- Paint (rocks/paper/boxes/sidewalk with colored water)
- Make playdoh
- Hide numbers/letters/words around the house and have them find them
- play with chalk
- bubbles
- read together
- practice writing name
If you have additional ideas please email me and I'll add them to the list!
