Letter Grab Box
Choose up to 8 letters, and make sure there are at least 2 vowels (a, e, i, o, and u). Write the letters on small pieces of paper or use letter tools that you have at home (flash cards, magnetic letters, etc.). Let your student manipulate the letters so that there are at least three letters in a row, and a vowel in the middle. Have them read their word. Is it a real word? Write it down! How many words can you make with the 8 letters? Can you make longer words, or sight words? Have fun!

Letter Bingo
Play Bingo as a family! Call out letter names, sounds, or words that begin with the sound. Take turns calling out the letters.
-
Letter Cards
You can print and use these cards in several ways:
Flashcards
Memory Game to match upper and lowercase
Go Fish to find letter matches (or print several sets of a smaller number of letters to play the normal way)
Match cards to items that begin with the sound
Pull a card and write in sand our flour or sugar; make letters with playdough
-
CVC spelling
Print and complete the sounds boxes with your students. Use magnetic letters, letter cards, playdough letters, or write the letters in the box in order to spell out the words. You can also create your own sound boxes on a white board or by using a paper in a plastic box. Say simple words with CVC format like cat, pin, cup, mop, net, etc. and have your student write each letter sound in each box.
