Welcome to the Intermediate Extended Resource Room class at Jefferson Elementary!
My name is Wendy Schull. I began my career as a paraeducator with the Shoreline School District back in 1991. I received my BA in Special Education from Seattle Pacific University in 1998 and earned a M.Ed. in Severe Disabilities from the University of Washington in 2003.
I have been teaching in a variety of special education settings since 2000. While working for Everett Public Schools, I served as the Resource Room Teacher at Jefferson Elementary and the Primary Extended Resource Room Teacher at Garfield Elementary. I am pleased to be back at Jefferson. Go, Chargers!
This classroom is for students, third through fifth grades, who have diverse learning needs. We encourage independence, self-advocacy, and persistence through both academic and social challenges.
Our focus this year will be on self-empowerment. We encourage students to advocate for themselves and take control of their education. Being a learner means understanding what you are working on and why, celebrating when you have mastered a new skill, and setting goals for the future.
On a personal note, I live in Everett with my husband, an English Springer Spaniel puppy, and our cat. I enjoy reading, crocheting, baking, and gardening.
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions. I look forward to meeting you all!
