Welcome to the Primary Extended Resource Room at Garfield Elementary. I am very excited to have your student in my class and am looking forward to a year full of learning, growth, and development.
You are a very important part of this educational team, and I can't wait to discuss what you are hoping for your child in the upcoming year.
The 2019-2020 school year marks my 15th year of teaching elementary special education, which includes three years as the Resource Room Teacher at Jefferson Elementary. I've also spent three years as a Graduate Teaching Fellow at the University of Oregon and four years as a Paraeducator for Shoreline Public Schools.
I have a BA in Special Education from Seattle Pacific Univeristy, a M.Ed. in Severe Disabilities from the University of Washington, and am ABD on my Ph.D. in Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education at the Univeristy of Oregon.
I also hold a Program Administrative Certificate from City University, and am returning to teaching after spending the last two years as an administrator with the Central Kitsap School District, supporting families of children, birth to 3 and preschool through third grade.
I live in Everett with my two Cocker/King Charles spaniel mixes, Tiah and Mija. I enjoy cooking, gardening, crochet, reading, and spending time with friends and family.
If you would like to reach me, my email is firstname.lastname@example.org. Please allow me 24 hours to respond.
