Welcome to Ms. Heuer's Class

  • Melissa Fox

     Welcome to room 105!

I am Mrs. Fox and I am part of the wonderful kindergarten teaching team at Emerson. It is my second year at Emerson, but my   love for teaching and learning has been growing for many years before that.
I attended Western Washington University where I studied psychology. My focus was around child development. I also spent most of my time working with children at a preschool and child care center, where I found my true passion in teaching and learning. I went back to school to earn my Master's in Teaching from City University while I began my career with Everett Public Schools as a para educator. I am now in my second year as a kindergarten teacher.

My first goal as a teacher is to leave each child with a love for learning. As a lifelong learner myself, I hope to instill the same habits within my students. My second goal is to make sure that the learning we do here is fun! I will help my class develop the social, emotional, and academic skills necessary to grow and thrive here in class, as well as at home. I am very excited to have your student in my class this year - it is a great year to learn!
