Everett School District Summer Reading Assignment
For the last few years, the Everett School District has assigned students a summer reading brochure designed to make sure students read over the summer to prevent the "summer slide". You will be receiving this brochure along with your child's progress report in the mail and should expect it within the first day or two of summer.
Remember that beginning June 20, students will be able to take AR tests from home. If you are entering second, third, fourth, or fifth grade, please make sure you only record scores of 80% or more on your summer reading brochure...these are the only points we will be looking at for homework completion! More information about the summer reading brochure and how to access AR from home can be found below based on which grade your child is entering into:
For students entering First Grade:
For students entering Second, Third, Fourth, or Fifth Grade:
For students entering Sixth Grade:

Watch the following videos to learn about how to use Destiny Discover (see what you have checked out, place holds, read eBooks) and how our library books are organized by taking a tour of the library.
When students search for websites on Destiny Quest, they can search for websites closer to their independent reading levels. On Destiny Quest and FollettShelf, when students search for books, they can refine searches by adjusting AR levels. This sheet shows a correlation between AR and lexile levels so students understand what lexile to adjust to when searching for websites.
