Welcome

  • I'm Gregory Poe, and this is my first year at Cascade. For the last seven years, I taught at Jackson High School, but I consider this a huge improvement for me. I love Cascade students and teachers. I plan on being here until the day I retire – that's how special this school is.

My wife and I moved to Mill Creek from Austin, Tx in the Summer of 2017. Compared to Austin, there's less Tex-mex (Mexican food ≠ Tex-mex), and the trees are way taller. People here also say "barbequing" when they actually mean "grilling". You're wrong, but I've decided to overlook your deficiencies as long as y'all are ok with me saying "y'all" and "yonder." As you can tell, I don't take myself too seriously – but I take my job very seriously. I have a B.S. in Physics and an M.A. in Physics Education. And I recently received my National Board Certification in teaching physics. That's a big deal – less than 3% of teachers in the US have that certification.

One important thing to note about me is that I'm hav two sons, Anderson (~3 years old) and Beckham(~1 year old). If you'd like to learn more about me, click on the "About Myself" page. Otherwise, use the tabs on the left to navigate this website. If you're looking for daily agenda, assignments, etc., you're in the wrong spot. Those updates are accessed on OneNote (for physics) or Canvas (for engineering). This website introduces myself, my classes, and my class structure, but it is not updated throughout the year. This is more of an overview than a complete class website.

Have an excellent day! And don't be afraid to email me for help.
