Hello Parents and Students,

I just want to thank you all ahead of time for your patience and flexibility during this 100% return to the building with masks and social distancing. I think we will discover a lot about ourselves as learners, teachers, listeners and doers. No one is perfect, and we will have to reach deep inside to find compassion and empathy for others during a difficult time, when it is easy to just focus on ourselves. I am excited to meet you in person, and I encourage you all to email me if you have any questions or concerns. 

I will do my best to support all of you and to promote a love of reading and writing. Reading helps us to stretch our imagination, learn about other cultures and societies, develop empathy and compassion for others, and, most important of all, to escape these difficult times and have fun! Writing, in any form, allows us to communicate with each other and hopefully to discover that as humans, we share more similarities than differences. Be careful with the words you choose and always think of the feelings of others before you share your writing.

I know this will be another historical school year for our Everett community, the state of Washington, and our country. I hope we all allow each other the grace to make mistakes, and we all find the courage to venture out of our comfort zones and emabrace this new adventure!!
