Abcya.com - Educational kids computer games and activities all approved by certificated teachers. Activities are grouped by: letters, numbers, more, and holiday within grades k-5.
AR/ STAR - Take tests and create student and class reports.
AR Book Finder - Find test information (level, points, test availability, etc.).
Language Arts Games - Large collection of games to build language skills and concepts for Pre-K through 12th grade.
Mrs. P's Magic Library - An award-winning interactive digital storybook destination. Classic children's stories brought to life by TV star Kathy Kinney as Mrs. P. The site contains interactive games, coloring sheets to download, and activity guides to accompany chapter books . Every story also offers read along options so children can see the words.

Primary Websites
Between the Lions - A colorful, interactive site with multiple games, stories, and video clips that contain words and phonics. Each of the games provides visual and auditory assistance for those who have cognitive and learning difficulties.
Brain Pop Jr. - Animated curriculum based content that is aligned to academic standards. Although more benefits are included in a paid subscription, many resources are still free including mini-movies, graphic organizers, vocabulary, fill in the blanks.
Clifford - Clifford stories illustrated and read aloud.
Fun With Letters - This site features stories and activities that introduce and reinforce letter recognition and formation. Also included is a writer's workshop area that provides pages for creating stories.

Make Beliefs Comix - 5 steps to a simple comic strip. Can be used for retelling, sequencing, responding to text, rewriting the ending, or creative writing.
My Story Maker- There are lots of story makers out there, but this one is a cut above. It was developed by graduate students at Carnegie Mellon University to increase literacy rates among young children while appealing to their fast-moving media lifestyles.
Wordle - Wordle is a toy for generating word clouds from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. Students can use Wordle to create word poetry, turn an essay into a poster, practice spelling words, brainstorm a list, type a speech, etc.
