If you don't get a chance to meet me before school begins, I'm probably out playing volleyball, fishing in the ocean or doing one of a thousand tasks for Mrs. Hashimoto who retired after 30+ years in education (The last 14 years in Kindergarten)!
Both sides of my family grew up in this area and I am a third generation American of Japanese descent. I am the middle boy child in my family (1 girl (oldest) & 3 boys) and have a large, extended family throughout this region.
Mrs. Hashimoto and I have been married for 31 years and we have two children. Joel is our oldest and just turned 21. Jasmine is two years behind him and is currently going to school at Shoreline Community College.
Growing up, I coached in a variety of different sports that ranged from skiing to bowling! I have always enjoyed working with children of all ages and I turned that interest into a career! I have a degree in Business Management and obtained my teaching certificate through Western Washington University. I have worked in education since 1994 (Seattle Public Schools) and been with Everett since 1996. I have spent the last several years here at Evergreen teaching Social Studies and learning how to become a Wolf...! Prior to that I was a Fifth grade teacher at View Ridge Elementary (Go Vikings!) so I'm a little familiar with this area (but I still don't know all the best restaurants!).
Try to make the most of these last few days!
I look forward to meeting all of you in the coming school year!
1st Day of School is September 4th!
