5th Grade Transition
Meeting for 2019/2020 School Year
You are cordially invited to help your student transition to middle school by joining us on Monday March 18th, from 5:00 pm to 7:00pm
We encourage parents to be an active participant in their students’ education, so please join us in the Evergreen Commons to get a peek at what Evergreen Middle School has to offer its incoming students.
Our staff will share the highlights of a typical day in the life of an Evergreen 6th grader.
Please call us at 425-385-5700 if you have any questions. We look forward to meeting you!
5th Grade Parent Meeting
March 18th at 5:00 p.m.
Evergreen MS is a closed campus from 30 minutes after school ends until 4:30pm each day—it is only an open campus after 4:30 pm to allow for evening sports to occur. We expect every student to promptly leave campus at the end of each day, unless the student is staying for an after school program that is supervised by an adult, like Study Club or an extra-curricular activity. The students participating in after school clubs or study club may take the Activity Bus home at 3:10 pm. Students that participate in sports may take the Athletic Bus home at 4:30 pm. If your student is not involved in athletics, then they should not return to school at 4:30 to meet with friends. Our #1 priority is student safety and therefore prefer for them to be home when it is dark, cold, and school-related activities are done.
The KNOW HIV/STD Prevention Education and “GET REAL” Sex Education will be taught in two sessions this year beginning with Session 1 in March and Session 2 in May. This is a State Mandated Curriculum that will be taught to all PE students in 6th/7th/8th Grade classes. Key concepts that will be introduced are Female/Male Anatomy, Puberty, STD/HIV Transmission and Prevention, Abstinence and Protection Methods, Sexual Identity (7th + 8th only) and Refusal skills. If you would like to view the curriculum and key concepts prior to your child taking the class.

The staff is committed to honor, excellence, and achievement by ensuring students meet Washington state standards in a safe learning environment.
