Dear Students and Families,
I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Jackie Peters, and I've been working in Everett Public Schools for the past fourteen years - three years as a para and eleven years as a teacher. Prior to being an educator, I worked in the field of advertising as a media planner and buyer.
I received my undergraduate degree from Washington State University (Go Cougs!) and my Teacher Certification from the University of Washington, Bothell. I've taught a variety of grade levels, but the majority of my experience is in intermediate - 4th and 5th grades. This is my sixth year teaching at Penny Creek, and I'm thrilled to be a part of an amazing community of students, parents, and staff. I love teaching 4th and 5th grades because it is an incredible year of learning, both academically and socially. Not to mention, we get to attend 5th grade camp in the spring at Camp Orkila!
If you are out and about, you may run into me. I live in a nearby neighborhood called Rhody Lane with my husband of 25 years and our two young adult sons. When I'm not in school or working on lessons, I enjoy spending time with friends and family eating a meal together or watching a movie. On the weekends, I can often be found shopping at Nordstrom, Target or Home Goods. I love anything water related such as swimming, boating, or walking on the beach. I'm also a Seahawks fan!
My goal as a teacher is to provide a safe, respectful learning environment for all students. I expect my students to work hard to achieve to high standards in all areas, and I hope families will provide support at home. I know this will be an exciting school year for your 4th or 5th grader, and I sincerely hope they remember it as one of their favorites.
If you have any questions, concerns, suggestions, or ideas, please feel free to share them with me at anytime. I look forward to getting to know each of you.
Sincerely, Jackie Peters
