I am excited to begin another year at Penny Creek. This will be my sixth year teaching 4th grade at Penny Creek. I'm a little biased but in my opinion Penny Creek is the best school for so many reasons...our families and community are amazing and supporting, the teachers do their best for their students ever day, our support staff work so hard to help students be successful, and most importantly, our students are a happy mix of silly, hard working, and kind.

A little bit about myself...

I grew up in a smallish town in southern Washington called Battle Ground. I attended Central Washington University to earn my Bachelor's Degree with a double major in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. After graduation I moved to the Puget Sound area and I spent a year and a half focusing on child development with preschoolers before becoming a substitute teacher for the Everett School District. I've worked at almost every elementary school in Everett School District. Six years ago I jumped at an opportunity to teach at Penny Creek, my favorite school.

My husband and I are proud parents of a very active Australian Shepherd named Zoe and our beautiful baby boy, Timmy. Timmy turns 2 in October 2019. Having my son has completely changed how I see the world and taught me to appreciate all the little things and wonders in life. While my students are still "my kids", having my own to come home to each night has been amazing.

I'm excited to have our next family member, a baby girl, join our family in early November 2019. I'm sure having a second child will rock our world and we're estatic to grow our family.

In my free time (whatever that mystical thing is) I enjoy reading, playing video and board games with my husband, and playing with my son and dog. I spent my summer enjoying being a stay-at-home mom and exposing my son to all sorts of wonders, our favorites were going to the beach, picking blue berries, and exploring the zoo!

Fourth grade is an exciting year! We have many things to learn and explore together. I look forward to getting to know each of you and together we will make this a memorable year!
