Hello Eisenhower Patriots!
My name is Gwendalyn Papenhausen and I am excited to be sharing my passion for reading and educational technology with Eisenhower Middle School students.
I enjoy teaching students how to research, locate and choose the right reading materials. In addition to promoting a lifelong love of reading, I work diligently to empower students and staff through Digital Citizenship and Media Literacy lessons to enhance their learning.
In our quickly changing digital world, it is important that students learn to be safe and confident online users and ethical creators of information. This is an important part of my role as teacher librarian.
I have taught Language Arts and Social Studies in middle and high school for 8 years. I have a Master's in Library Science and am a National Board Certified Teacher in Library Media. I have enjoyed working in school libraries for the past 13 years.
I am a Northwest girl. For 9 years, my husband and I moved out to North Carolina for graduate school, but always knew we would return. We have three great kids and two rescue dogs. Our family loves to spend time outdoors, camping, backpacking and hiking as well as traveling the world. I enjoy being in the garden and of course reading a great book!
You are most welcome in the library! Come and visit us soon.
