Meet the Teacher Librarian

  • Ms. Papenhausen

     Hello Eisenhower Patriots!

My name is Gwendalyn Papenhausen and I am excited to be sharing my passion for reading with Eisenhower Middle School students.
I enjoy teaching students how to research, locate and choose the right reading materials. I work diligently to bring the love of reading into their lives. I like to see the look in their eyes when they tell me about a great book they have just finished.
I am enthusiastic about teaching digital citizenship and media literacy.  Teaching students to be safe and confident online users is an important part of my role as teacher librarian.
I have taught Language Arts and Social Studies in middle and high school for 8 years.  I have a Master's in Library Science and have enjoyed working in school libraries for the past 11 years.
I am a Northwest girl.  For 9 years, my husband and I moved out to North Carolina for graduate school, but always knew we would return.  We have three great kids and two rescue dogs. Our family loves to spend time outdoors, camping, backpacking and hiking as well as traveling the world.  I enjoy being in the garden and of course reading a great book!
You are most welcome in the library!  Come and visit us soon.
