My vision is for each student to graduate as a confident, independent learner, fully prepared to succeed in their chosen path. Like many families in our community, I have firsthand experience with the importance of precision and practical skills from my time at The Boeing Company. This experience informs my teaching, emphasizing clearly defined success criteria and the tangible skills needed to achieve them. Students in my class will always know what is expected of them and how to reach their goals.
In science, we emphasize practical application. Students will consistently demonstrate the ability to model, graph, and measure, developing a deep understanding of core concepts. I use a varied approach to mathematics, incorporating direct instruction, adaptive technology, and collaborative problem-solving on classroom whiteboards to cater to diverse learning styles and ensure mastery.
Time management is a key life skill that students develop in this classroom. Ample time is provided for in-class work; therefore, homework primarily serves as an opportunity to reinforce concepts not fully grasped during class. My goal is to equip every student with the academic foundation and practical skills they need to thrive, fostering not just knowledge, but the ability to apply that knowledge effectively in real-world situations.
