Background and Experience:  I received my Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Washington (Go Huskies!) and worked for several years in the business world as the Payroll Administrator and Human Resource Manager for our family's general contracting company. When we retired our business in 2001, I returned to the UW, obtained my teaching certification, and made a career change. Over the past 20 years, I have been challenged and energized through teaching both 7th and 8th grade ELA and Social Studies here at Gateway.

Current Year:  For the 2024-25 school year, I will be teaching Performing Arts/Drama as well as two sections of English for 7th grade students who have opted to challenge themselves with the 8th grade literacy curriculum. 

 

Philosophy:  My personal teaching philosophy is that learning should be relevant, rigorous and fun.
