I have had the pleasure of working at Gateway Middle School since 1999; first as a sixth grade block teacher, and now as the librarian.  My passion for young adult literature and technology led me to become a librarian after so many years in the classroom.  In my role I am fortunate to work with teachers to help plan curriculum and explore new innovations in technology, guide students in becoming effective users of information, and match readers with the best books to fit their interests.

After graduating from Juanita High School in Kirkland, WA, I received my B.A. in Education and English from Western Washington University in 1998.  I have a Master's Degree in Education with a focus on Integrating Technology from Walden University and a Library Media Specialist Endorsement from Montana State University.  I also earned my National Board Teaching Certification in Library Media in 2009.
