• The Gateway Library will be closed this summer. Due to construction on the roof, there will be no community access to the campus. If you are a student who will be attending Jackson in the fall, please visit the JHS library to check out your summer reading books. Their open times are 9-noon on 6/23, 6/26, 6/27, 7/12, 7/26, 8/9, 8/14-9/1.
If students are entering grade 6, they should have a copy of the book Wonder they received at their local elementary. These students may also visit their local elementary school in the summer to check out additional books. All students who are starting at Gateway will be reading Wonder, even if they will be entering our 6th grade honors program.
The Summer Reading Adventure brochures can be viewed and printed from here:
Please select the level of the course you will be taking in the fall.
Middle School Grades 6-8 Brochure For students entering Gateway in grade 6 and those taking 7th or 8th grade English.
JHS High School Brochure For students taking English One at Gateway and for students attending Jackson High School. (see other school sites if you will be attending a different high school)
Students viewed presentations in the spring to explain and answer questions about summer reading. The presentations include the reading list and a description of the books.  You can view the Power Points here:

    Summer Reading – Accelerated Reader

To take an Accelerated Reader test, please visit AR Login and use your six digit student ID number and the same password you use at school.

NOTE: Access to the AR testing site is open for the summer between July 1 and August 31.  If you are unable to enter the site, it is because we only have a license for that time period. If you are trying to access outside of that window, we ask you to complete one of the other activities for the summer reading program.  Please see the other choices on the summer reading brochure.
