**USDA is extending the free meal waiver until December 31, 2020. This means that school meals will be free for ALL children ages 1-18 regardless of their eligiblity status. They do not need to attend Everett Public Schools to take advantage of these free meals.**
We know you have had many questions since we announced we would be opening school in the fall in a fully remote model. Please go to our COVID 2020-21 webpage for a letter from Dr. Saltzman outlining details about the learning model. You will find information on daily school schedules, attendance, grading, accessing all class information in a single platform, school meals, Parent University and more! Be sure to check out the district’s FAQs page, if your question is not answered there you will have an opportunity to submit questions.
i-Ready is an online program for reading and/or mathematics that will help your child’s teacher(s) determine your child’s needs, personalize their learning, and monitor progress throughout the school year. i-Ready allows your teacher(s) to meet your child exactly where they are and provides data to increase your child’s learning gains. i-Ready consists of two parts: Diagnostic and Instruction. If your student is absent from school, please email the attendance office at email@example.com to let us know the following:
Do you have a medical appointment for your child, or they were sick and you brought them to the doctor? If so, make sure to ask for a medical note that you can turn in to the attendance office. Those absences can then be coded as a medical excuse.
Please fill out a Prearranged Absence Form if your student will be going on vacation/traveling or will miss school for an extended period of time.
An automated email/phone message notification of your student's absence will be sent by 10 a.m. each school day. If you report your student's absence AFTER 9:15 a.m., we thank you for the information, but please know, you will still receive the automated notifcation at 10 a.m.
