Welcome to the 2024-25 school year at Gateway Middle School! I teach Band and Jazz Band. I graduated from Central Washington University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Music in Instrumental Music Education, and from the University of South Florida in 2020 with a Master's of Music Performance degree. This is my 12th year teaching band in Everett Public Schools. Please check the links on this page for information specific to your student's classes, including about important dates, what your student needs to be successful for their class, homework assignments, and practice resources. This page, the Gateway Band webpage, and my Canvas courses will be updated throughout the year.  I'm looking forward to working with this year's excellent music students! 

Students do not need to have their instruments ready to go for the first week of school. We will discuss instrument rental and check-out during class sessions. 

Band I (Beginning Band) students do not need to have an instrument yet, nor do they need to know what instrument they want to play! We will explore the different instruments and find the right one for you during class.
