Independent Reading 

For ELA class, the answer to the question "Do I have homework?" is always YES! Even if you're done with other assignments for class, your homework is always to READ. Each month, you must read one book in the assigned genre, but you should also be reading other books, articles, magazines, etc. that interest you! Read for at least 20 minutes each night, and be ready to talk to Ms. Mercker and your classmates about what you're reading.
