Welcome to the Tongue Twister Challenge:

Tongue twisters are a great way to focus on careful articulation of a variety of speech sounds in tricky combinations.  A tongue twister does not need to include your target speech sound in order to be good speech practice.  As you repeat tricky sound sequences, you will find yourself needing to think quickly and carefully about production of each sound in order to repeat each sequence clearly and accurately.  Here are a few of my favorite tongue twisters to get you started.

Welcome back from Spring Break.  It's time to get back to work on some tricky tongue twisters.  This week's twisters will be great practice for anyone working on 'th' or 'r' sounds.

After you have practiced each twister, challenge your friends and family to see who can repeat the phrase the most often or the most quickly before making a mistake.  Start slowly and gradually increase the speed, being careful to maintain accuracy.  Send me an email at kpace@everettsd.org to let me know how you did.  If you have any favorite tongue twisters of your own, send them my way and check back weekly to see if any new tongue twisters have been posted.  Who knows, you may see your own twister featured in the next update.
