What is ASB? ASB stands for Associated Student Body! We are a group of students that represent the Heatherwood school community as a whole. ASB members are elected by their fellow students and work with students, staff, and community members to help make Heatherwood awesome. ASB meets several times a month and plans events such as dances, spirit weeks, fundraisers, assemblies, and more. We also vote on the way the ASB funds are spent.  Most importantly though, we build school spirit and community!

ASB has been hard at work – 2020 has been a busy year!

Here are some of their projects this year:

In October, ASB members ran for office and conducted an election. Their first act of business was to create a school-wide Spirit Week! Check out the looks here:

In November, ASB promoted a food drive for the community. They also created a Veterans Day website and video to honor our veterans. They collected info from Veterans and Active Servicemen and Servicewomen in Heatherwood’s community and made a tribute to them. The website and video they created can be seen here: https://sites.google.com/apps.everettsd.org/veterans-day-hms-2020/home

In December, students on ASB worked hard to put together a holiday treat for all of the hardworking teachers and staff! They made over 80 individualized Padlets and sent it out to students. Students then wrote hundreds of thank you and appreciation notes. Staff was surprised with their Padlets before Winter Break.

ASB is currently working on a virtual Martin Luther King Jr. assembly. Stay tuned for more info!
