Hello and Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year!

Hello!  My name is Charity Kalbrener and I am excited about teaching middle school science at North Middle School!  I have been teaching middle school science in the Everett School District since 2003.  Before I became a classroom teacher, I worked as a community health and wellness facilitator for several local non-profit agencies.   I completed both an A.A. and A.S. from Whatcom Community College in Bellingham.  I earned my B.A. degree from Western Washington University and then my Masters in Teaching (M.I.T.) from City University of Seattle.

When I am not teaching, I spend my time with my family.  I have been married to my husband Kurt for almost 22 years and we have an amazing daughter, Ava, who attends North Middle School as an 8th grader.  We all volunteer at several local animal rescue organizations in our area and serve as a foster family for animals who are not fit to stay in shelters. We currently have an adopted black and tan coon hound from Arkansas named Columbo, a "foster failed" lion-head rabbit named Eeyore and a "foster failed" Main-Coon cat named Sammy.  At this current time, we have 5 foster hens who are finding our backyard "ecosytem" to be quite comfy. On top of animal advocacy adventures, we enjoy hiking, kayaking, biking, tennis and other outdoor activities.

I look forward to learning more about you and your family this school year.

Please feel free to contact me anytime ckalbrener@everettsd.org.
