Due to an increase in the COVID Omicron variant in our community we are pausing all volunteers in our schools until February 1, 2022.

We will continue to process volunteer applications during this time.

We appreciate all the support our volunteers have provided thus far and are wanting to continue to provide our schools.

    Updated November 15, 2021:

We are excited to announce that we will be welcoming back volunteers into our schools on Monday, December 6th, 2021. Due to Governor Inslee’s directive (proclamation 21-14.1) requiring all employees working for public schools (including volunteers) to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or obtain a religious or medical exemption by October 18, 2021, we are requiring all volunteers to add the new 2021-22 volunteer position to their Frontline volunteer application and to upload proof of vaccination or an approved exemption/accommodation before returning to our buildings.

Thank you for all you do to support our schools and students. We are happy to have you back with us.

If you have any questions, please contact us at volunteer@everettsd.org or 425-385-4119.

    • If you do not have access to the internet or a computer, the district welcomes you to the Community Resource Center (3900 Broadway, Everett) during our business hours to use the computers in the atrium.
    • When signing into Frontline, you will be prompted to login to your Frontline account. Please utilize the “forgot password” link if you do not remember the password you had selected before.
    • If you do not have a copy of your COVID vaccination card, you may obtain verification of your vaccination through the myirmobile.com website or obtain a copy of your immunization record from your health care provider.
    • If you wish to request a vaccine exemption/accommodation, please complete the COVID-19 Vaccination Accommodation Request form located on our Human Resources/Forms webpage: https://www.everettsd.org/Page/9665
      • After receiving this request, human resources will contact you to meet regarding your request and possible accommodations. If you are requesting an exemption, an approved accommodation plan must be in place before you are able to volunteer.
      • In the "Employee ID" box on the exemption form, volunteers can simply ignore, or put "Volunteer."
    • The Frontline Application System requires a social security number for the application process.
    • Our volunteer process is being updated to reflect a two-year approval. After approval to volunteer this year, you will be asked to re-apply to volunteer for the 2023-2024 school year.

Please look here if you need additional application directions.

    Getting started as a volunteer

Our district's volunteer application process is online.

Each year we receive thousands of volunteer applications, and processing can take up to two weeVolunteer helping student on computer ks. Thank you for planning ahead!

    1. Select the volunteer category for which you wish to apply

School Day Volunteer: volunteers who work in close proximity of district employees. Volunteer activities may include reading or math tutor, classroom helper, day field trip chaperone, library helper, or Watch D.O.G.S.

Extended Support Volunteer: volunteers who may not be in direct proximity of a district employee and who provide substantial assistance. Volunteer activities may include overnight chaperone, volunteer club advisor, and program booster.

Volunteer Athletic Coach: volunteers who support middle and high school athletic teams.

Please note: Volunteer Athletic Coaches may serve as Extended Support and School Day Volunteers, and Extended Support Volunteers may serve as School Day Volunteers.

    2. Begin your online application

All volunteer applications are processed online. Please create an account and then select the volunteer type for which you wish to apply.

The online volunteer application is only available in English.

The application process is mobile-friendly and is supported by Safari, Chrome and Firefox browsers.

Please look here if you need additional application directions.

    3. Provide information for background checks

School employees each undergo a background check before being authorized to work in our schools. Similarly, each volunteer candidate must undergo a background check. The type of volunteer activity determines the type of background check.

School Day Volunteers: Washington State Patrol criminal history

Extended Support Volunteers: Washington State Patrol criminal history and National Sex Offender registry through an outside agency

Volunteer Athletic Coach: Washington State Patrol criminal history, National Sex Offender registry through an outside agency and fingerprinting through the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI)

While all volunteers must be screened through the background check processes, a criminal history does not automatically disqualify one from volunteering. If there is a concern, an applicant will have the opportunity to talk with a Human Resource representative. (In such cases you may ask to provide personal references for additional follow up.)

    4. Complete safety training and requirements

A volunteer's training is determined by the type of volunteer activity. As outlined in the application process, all volunteer applicants are required to review the district's volunteer manual. Translated versions of manual are available in ArabicRussian, Spanish and Vietnamese.

Extended Support Volunteers and Volunteer Athletic Coaches also require online safety training and an upload of a photo identification. Volunteer Athletic Coaches require additional Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) training.

    5. Orientation

A designated individual at the school or program where you wish to volunteer will provide a volunteer orientation, including sign in/out and badge processes.
