Heatherwood Middle School opened in 1989. The two-story school is nestled in the city of Mill Creek, surrounded by forest. The community uses Heatherwood Middle School facilities and campus year-round, taking advantage of numerous athletic/recreation facilities, including two gymnasiums, soccer, softball/baseball, football fields, track, tennis courts, an outdoor covered basketball court, and interpretive trail.
